Out of the millions of packages and letters that go through the post daily, what are the chances that 3 of our packages would be among the 170 they have isolated? I am going to go buy a lottery ticket!!
****************************************************I can honestly say, I am not at all surprised. If something strange, odd, or just totally off the wall doesn't happen on a daily basis, I have to check my pulse. Here is today's little tidbit, since it does effect some customers. I have contacted everyone with shipments on the days in question, but decided I would blog about this for anyone out there who may possibly be able to relate to how my "normal" functions. I received this letter from the postal sorting office today... The letter states: Dear customer This letter is being sent to notify you that your mail pieces, which entered the sorting office on or about Monday September 28th 2009 are currently being withheld from processing due to safety concerns.
Unfortunately, your mail piece was included in mail contaminated by mercury that leaked from a package mailed by another customer. Because mercury is a hazardous material, we have been working with local health department as well as private companies certified to handle hazardous materials in an effort to resolve this matter as quickly as possible.
Currently none of the contaminated mail can safely be returned or delivered, so it has been isolated from further processing until we determine wheither or not it is possible for all or some of these mail pieces to be salvaged. Once we have explored all available options, we will contact you with our determination, I anticipate we will be able to do so shortly.
Please accept our genuine apologies for any inconvenience this incident may have caused.
Sincerely James E Thompson Jr. Plant Manager

There are 3 packages, and it would be nice to know which ones they were. Interestingly enough, sending an email out to brand new customers and international ones at that, does NOT instill a calm about all things Woobie when there is mention of isolation and contamination.
On the bright side, it DOES stir a bit of the creativeness and inspire a couple of new scents - Now you get a general idea of how some of the scents I create are inspired. :)
For those of you who managed to read this, I award you with a 10% off coupon. Turning a strange situation into a good one. This coupon is good for any sized order amount. International customers included! (not combined with any other coupon or discount) Code: Mercury Tags: edit to add media coverage Current Mood: giggly
